This…this is becoming something special. If not already, we are close to a legitimate rivalry here. When the Padres became relevant in 2020, they immediately became the annoying little brother. LA handled them in the playoffs, but both fanbases have the image of Bellinger robbing Tatis forever. We can argue about the weight of that Championship, but it’s regardless right now.

Moving to 2021 – those games in the first half of the season were ELECTRIC. It seemed for 2-3 series, almost every one of their games was on national TV – typically reserved for BOS/NYY. Then, a generational flop for the Padres. We had an 18 inning game somewhere in there – another fun moment.

2022 was belt-to-ass on the Padres. I think the Dodgers were crowned “The Padres’ Padres”. People are just now starting to understand the best baseball teams have the best vibes at the right time. No matter the record. The leather snapped once a goose flew on to the mf field in Game 2. Like the lights at the Harbowl in 2013. The Padres rattled off 3 straight and their bullpen made the Dodgers look like a decent minor league club.

2023 was a lull. Embarrassing for both teams. The Dodgers dominated the regular season again, but got the brooms from a team with no fan base. Padres flopped. We move on.

Now we’re here. 3rd time in 5 years, each side with ammunition. Likely the best it’s been (yeah the Dodgers are depleted on the mound but maybe they should investigate their training + pitching staffs?) Showtime vs. the machine. A machine with some showtime though…and the vibes. One problem with vibes – media hype cancels em’ out. Padres fans should be pissed MLB Network loves them. Everyone loves them.

Even series – even teams. Let’s. Fucking. Go.

Pads in 5.
